“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” Alfred Einstein
This Christmas we made some fun brain teasers for gifts. I could go on about developing patience, creative problem solving, thinking outside the box, and how good it is for kids too but you all probably have heard it before so I’ll just say that brain teasers are awesome… and fun. They were homemade too, so that makes them even better, in my book.
This extremely challenging game is extremely simple to make.
Materials: 14- 3″ nails, one 2 1/2″ cube shaped block of wood
You take a block of wood and hammer a nail into it just a little ways. About 2 1/4″ of the nail is still sticking out of each of ours. I’m not saying this is a science or anything but I’m detail oriented and this is how it worked for us. 😉 Then you take 13 more nails of the same size and try to balance them on top of the nail. Yes, it is possible. I hope you accept this challenge and give it a good try. Let me know if you solve it! The solution picture link is below.
We also glued some felt onto the bottom of each cube for a finishing touch.
