In a conversation the other day, I realized that many of the things that I made for my kids long ago still get used by them. One that particularly makes me happy is the first pattern I ever designed. I started my blog with a post about a rainbow and hearts blanket I’d made for my girl. Today she still uses the blanket almost every day and it still has tons of life left in it. When I pour myself and my time into making something, it’s incredibly satisfying to see it appreciated for years and years. Here’s a fun little photo shot of some pictures I took today and some I took over 6 years ago. The left two photos are of my 5 year old cutie and her new blanket. And the right side photos are of her well loved blanket and her now 12 year old self. I just can’t say much more because of how much it wows me to see these side by side. It’s a joy to make things that are treasured and well loved and that last.
