Nursing Cover

So, I’ve always breastfed my babies and always struggled with nursing the hungry baby in public. The typical episode would end with milk everywhere, slipping blankets due to flailing infants, and a baby not very happy with all the time it takes to be modest. I can’t believe it took me until my third baby to find this awesome thing! The other day, I even walked around after my 2 year old in public while nursing and was completely covered. Hallelujah!

I’m not going to give you the how to for this… because I used someone else’s tutorial and tweaked it. I added a big pocket on the front to carry things and another snapped pocket on the front of the big pocket… to put modest things in, like nursing pads. I made the boning 12 inches long because 16 inches seemed like too much to me. It was fun to make and easy! The hardest thing was picking out the fabrics I wanted to use! Due to too many options I may have spent an hour and a half looking at fabric at the store while pacifying the newborn in the baby sling and the two year old with crackers. Yes, I might have done that… The best part was spending $7 (after sales and coupons) instead of $30+ retail! And, finally, here’s a link to the tutorial I used. Happy sewing!
